One of the natural attractions you will like on your itinerary are the glacial lakes of the Triglav National Park on the edge of the Julian Alps. Lake Bohinj is the less toured option.
Lake Bled is located in the north of the Julian Alps, by the town of Bled. About 35 km from Ljubljana International Airport.
The are provides lots of opportunities for kids in this area, including thermal spas rafting on the Sava River. Younger ones can experience the Aquarium in Piran or the glass-bottomed boat rides.

Camp Bled has been in operation for nearly 60 years and is close to both the lake and the city of Bled. I'm not a fan of small Zoo's but you can make your own mind up about the one located by here.
Welcome to Ljubljana
The capital is accessible but affordable jumping off spot to many of the more interesting locations around the country.
While not all travelers will make it to the coast, there is an opportunity to extend your stay in Slovenia and visit this aspect as well.
